How does the grammar checker work?
Paste your text (or upload a file), open the Grammar tab and click Check Grammar. You get two things: the fully corrected text, and a list of every error in the form original → corrected (reason). If nothing needs fixing, it says so.
Why does seeing the reason matter?
A list of reasons shows the mistakes you make most often — a missing article, a comma splice, a tense that slips — so you can stop making them. That is more useful than silent corrections, especially if English is not your first language.
What does it leave alone?
Links, citations and reference lists are protected and returned unchanged, so a bibliography is never “corrected” into the wrong format. It fixes grammar, spelling and punctuation rather than rewriting your style — for a full rewrite use the paraphraser.
Is it good enough for an essay?
It catches most everyday errors, but read the corrected text before you submit it: an AI checker can occasionally change a word you chose on purpose or miss an error in a long, complex sentence.
What is the difference between a grammar checker and a paraphraser?
A grammar checker keeps your words and fixes the mistakes in them. A paraphraser rewrites the text in new words. Use the grammar checker on writing that is already yours and says what you mean; use the paraphraser when a passage needs rewording, then run the grammar checker over the result.
