How do I turn my notes into flashcards?

Copy your notes from wherever they live — a notes app, a Google Doc, a Word file or an email to yourself — and paste them into the box. ParaFree picks out the facts, definitions and ideas worth testing and writes each one as a question on the front of a card with the answer on the back.

Messy notes are fine. Bullet points, half sentences and headings all work, because the AI reads for meaning rather than layout. If your notes are in a file, you can upload it instead of pasting.

Why make flashcards from your own notes?

Testing yourself (active recall) is one of the most reliable ways to remember material, and cards made from your own notes match what your teacher actually covered. Writing them by hand takes the time you would rather spend revising. Letting AI draft the cards and then checking them gives you both: cards that fit your course, made in a minute.

Each pack also includes a quiz, so you can move from flipping cards to answering questions without starting again.

How long can my notes be?

There is no word limit on what you paste. Long notes are trimmed to their most central sentences in your browser first (TextRank), and the screen tells you how many words were sent to the AI.

Pick a size before you start. Quick gives a short set of key points, a few cards and a five-question quiz. Standard suits a lecture or a chapter: about ten key points, a dozen flashcards and an eight-question quiz. Exam prep makes the most — about fifteen flashcards and twelve quiz questions — for revising a whole topic.

What happens to my notes?

Files are read in your browser, and long texts are cut down to their most central sentences (TextRank) before anything is sent, so the AI gets at most about 4,000 words. That text goes to an AI provider to write your pack and is not saved by ParaFree. The AI is told to use only what is in your material, but it can still make mistakes — check anything important against your notes or textbook.

Turn notes into flashcards in four steps

  1. Copy your notes. From any notes app, document or email.
  2. Paste them. Into the “Paste or upload” box — or upload the file instead.
  3. Pick a size. Quick for a lesson, Standard for a lecture, Exam prep for a whole topic.
  4. Make and check. Click the button, then read the cards and fix anything the AI got wrong before you revise.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the flashcards?

Download them as a .txt file or copy them, then edit them anywhere you like.
